Parent Consultations
Meet with one of our specialists to discuss your child's needs and devise a plan for the appropriate intervention. Consultations give parents the chance to air their concerns, seek advice and work together with our team to see where we can help. If further intervention such as assessments or occupational therapy is needed, advice will be given on how to navigate the assessment of needs / early intervention process offered by the HSE.
Individual play sessions
Children learn, grow and thrive when given space and time to play. A child who may be experiencing difficulties, at any stage of development, will benefit from play sessions. Our individual sessions provide a child with the space to explore, problem
solve, flex their imagination and challenge themselves to try new things, all while supported by an experienced facilitator.
The individual sessions are based on a holistic approach; can be completely child led, allowing the child to lead the way or can be developed to provide the child with activities and experiences that will help to support their developmental stage.
This could be in the form of sensory play, puppets, art, role play, drama, story telling. Some of the benefits of play sessions:
* Develop independence through choice,
* Helps to increase the child's self esteem,
* Develop resilience and empathy,
* Increase their self awareness,
* Help them understand their emotions and how to respond to them,
*Work through social scenarios that may be proving difficult for them.

Group play sessions (3 - 5 children)
In small groups children will explore sensory, gross motor, fine motor and social activities, all underpinned by adult modelling of positive social behaviour. The child to adult ratio will allow for each child's individual needs to be met and the group can be gently guided, to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to feel involved and to benefit from the various activities. Similarly to the individual sessions, the group sessions will focus on developing the child's self esteem and self awareness in a safe and secure environment through the medium of play. Children will benefit from working alongside their peers and developing coping and regulatory skills required in everyday life.

Pre-School visits
Children can come across hurdles to their development for a variety of reasons, sometimes the most minor of changes in a child's routine or a simple change in a class dynamic, can throw a child's emotional equilibrium off. In the Early Year's it is important to strike a balance between the child's social and emotional development while nurturing their thirst for knowledge and exploration. Each child is unique and develops at their own pace and sometimes this can trigger difficulties if they are expected to manage skills outside their capability levels.
Having an Early Intervention Specialist observe and advise can assist the child, their family and also the setting they attend, in devising a workable plan with achievable strategies to aid the child's development.
Art Sessions
Art can help a child grow and develop their creativity, increase their fine motor skills and problem solving ability. It can lead to increased self esteem, develop their socio-emotional abilities, create independence and strengthen communication skills. It also gives the child an alternative way to express their emotions.
Art sessions allow the child to be in control and creative and these classes are structured to allow their thought process to direct their work. The result of creative expression is always involuntary so helps children grow emotionally and socially and can also improve cognitive function. Sessions are available in small groups of 3-5 children or on an individual basis.

Music Appreciation
Exposing children to music during early development helps them learn the sounds and meanings of words and increases their vocabulary. As they learn an instrument, children become accustomed to different sounds and begin to recognise them, which trains their ears for the nuances and subtle sounds of language. Music helps strengthen memory skills and helps the body and the mind work together. Children will use their whole body to keep the rhythm going when they play and they must co-ordinate with their hands at the same time. When children play in a group, they learn to work together to achieve a common goal, exercising tolerance, patience and encouragement towards their peers. It can also teach them about different cultures while exploring music from various parts of the globe. Researchers have found connections between music lessons and nearly every measure of academic achievement, reading comprehension and math skills. There’s a great sense of pride that comes from working on building a new skill. This then increases a child’s self-esteem and confidence in their own abilities and most importantly, this is all done while having lots of fun! |
